Our School
“Guided by our Lady with arms outstretched we welcome all to share in our dream of working and learning in a Catholic and all encompassing environment, striving so that everyone may reach their true potential, building a strong foundation for future endeavour”.
Our school is a co-educational Roman Catholic school under the patronage of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Cloyne. We aim to further the overall development of every aspect of the pupil as a person and to promote the full and harmonious development of all pupils: cognitive, intellectual, physical, cultural, moral and spiritual, including a living relationship with God and other people and promotes a Christian philosophy of life.
Our ethos is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Roman Catholic Church, under the protection and guidance of our Lady. It is inspired by the example provided by the life of our Saviour and the loving care of our Mother.
Bunscoil Mhuire is a 26 teacher school and this includes our principal Eoghan Rua O’Neill. Teachers in our school are ably assisted by 8 Special Needs Assistants (SNAs). We have almost 500 children in our school. Our policy is to have very small classes in the Junior Cycle i.e. from Junior Infants to 1st Class and again in 6th class before pupils progress onto secondary school.
